Hadebe Axed from Final After Alcohol Video Scandal

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has suspended Warriors defender Teenage Hadebe for breaching camp regulations after videos allegedly showing him holding alcohol surfaced online.

In a statement, ZIFA confirmed that disciplinary action had been taken in line with team rules, resulting in a one-match suspension that rules Hadebe out of the Mukuru Four Nations Tournament final against Zambia.

The circulating footage, which spread rapidly on social media, is understood to have triggered the investigation that led to the defender being found in violation of the team’s code of conduct.

ZIFA said the player has since apologised to both the squad and the Association and has accepted the sanction.

The incident has cast a shadow over the Warriors’ preparations for the final, with the technical team now forced to reorganise its defence at a crucial stage of the competition.

Despite the controversy, the Association reiterated its stance on discipline, emphasizing that professionalism and accountability remain non-negotiable within the national team setup.

Hadebe’s absence leaves a significant gap in Zimbabwe’s backline as the Warriors head into the decisive encounter under heightened scrutiny.
