Zimbabwe Hold Position in Latest FIFA Rankings Despite Mixed Results in November Friendlies

Zimbabwe have discovered their standing in the latest FIFA world rankings released after the November international break, following friendly matches against Algeria and Qatar.

The Warriors suffered a 3-1 defeat to Algeria in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, last Thursday, but bounced back with a confidence-boosting 2-1 win over Qatar in Doha on Monday. The victory over Qatar, who were ranked 51st heading into the match, ended Zimbabwe’s year-long wait for a win in any competition.

Despite the positive result, Zimbabwe’s global ranking remains unchanged at number 129. However, the Warriors did lose two ranking points, dropping to 1123.69. Their continental position also stayed steady, with the team holding 36th place in Africa.

FIFA confirmed that the final rankings for 2025 will be released on 23 December. The list will not include AFCON results, as the tournament kicks off just two days before publication.
