Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema arrived in Harare on Friday for the inaugural Zimbabwe–Zambia Bi-National Commission (BNC), a new platform set to deepen cooperation between the neighbouring countries.
President Hichilema and President Emmerson Mnangagwa will co-chair the maiden session of the BNC, which upgrades the long running Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation.
The meeting comes as Zimbabwe and Zambia mark 45 years of diplomatic relations, built on shared liberation history and decades of political, social, and economic ties.
Ahead of the presidential session, ministers and senior officials from both countries have been meeting in Harare over the past two days to finalise agreements aimed at strengthening collaboration across key sectors.
