Zimunya Teen Sentenced to Community Service for Bestiality

A 19-year-old man from Zimunya Township in Mutare has been sentenced to perform 175 hours of community service after being found guilty of bestiality involving a hen.

The offender, Carrington Mutasa, was initially given an eight-month jail term. However, three months were suspended for five years, while the remaining five months were set aside on the condition that he completes the community service.

According to court records, the incident occurred on September 16 at around 5:30 PM when Mutasa unlawfully entered a homestead in Zimunya Village and went into the fowl run, where he committed the offence.

A minor who witnessed the act reported it to the chicken’s owner, resulting in Mutasa’s arrest.
